About Monroe Arts Council

 Serving as the county's official Tourism Center, this downtown Woodsfield venue acts as a community hub. The center provides retail space for  Creative Expressions Gift Shop, which showcases and supports handcrafted works from over 40 local Appalachian artisans. 

 Originally built in 1939, this landmark regional entertainment venue was acquired by the Arts Council in 2016. Lovingly restored by community volunteers, it serves as the premier stage for live music, classic movies, and large-scale community events.

 A historic Monroe County community space and local landmark. The Arts Council proudly supports the ongoing building preservation and maintenance of the chapel, working alongside local historical societies to protect this vital piece of regional architectural heritage.

We have been promoting the arts in our community for over 20 years. Our organization was founded by a group of passionate artists who wanted to make a difference in their community.

 A community-based writers' organization that provides a dedicated, collaborative forum for regional authors, poets, and historians. The group hosts regular meetups and workshops to help local writers develop their craft and share feedback

 Monroe County's community musical organizations, including a dedicated local choir and handbell ensemble. Composed entirely of area musicians, this group enrich the region by staging seasonal public concerts and special musical programs.
