Welcome to Our Community
Established in 1975, the Monroe Arts Council drives community projects that preserve and celebrate Appalachian Ohio's rich heritage. Located in downtown Woodsfield, the council operates the Monroe Arts & Tourism Center, a vibrant hub hosting year-round art exhibits, musical programs, and educational workshops. The center is also home to the Creative Expressions Gift Shop, which proudly showcases and supports the work of more than 40 local artisans. Through these initiatives, the council continues to inspire an appreciation for local history, culture, and talent across generations.
